Yolande B. Veillette entered into rest on Monday, August 29, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Veillette for 63 years. Yolande was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada on June 15, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alexandrine Bellemare.
In her early years, Yolande focused on being a loving mother. After her youngest was in high school, she worked at Strand Brothers. Later in life, Yolande was a beloved child care practitioner at the Valley YMCA, dedicating herself to the youth of her community. Yolande had a passion for music, knitting, cooking and baking; famous for her delicious cheese squares. She loved to spend her time exercising and maintaining her fitness. Yolande also enjoyed playing her numbers and spending time at the casino.
Yolande is survived by her children Suzanne Reilly and her husband Steven, Raymond Veillette and his wife Lori, Denise Veillette, Andre Veillette and his wife Maria, and Paul Veillette, daughter in law Lynn Iverson, her grandchildren Gail Veillette, Raymond Veillette, Sarah Veillette, Joshua Emerich, David Arroyo, Michael Arroyo, and Jessica Arroyo, her 8 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Yolande is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jean Marc Bellemare, Paul Bellemare, René Bellemare, Louis Bellemare, Lise Bellemare, and Madeliene Bellemare. She was predeceased by her son, Jacques Veillette, brother Jacques Bellemare, and a sister Noella Juliano
Friends are invited to greet Yolande’s family on Friday September 2, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street in Derby. On Saturday her procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am for her Mass of Christian burial in St Mary Church, Derby at 11 am.
