Only 2 of CT's Top Pizzerias Made This National List
What? How can that be? And neither of them is Frank Pepe's. Let us know your favorites.
When it comes to pizza, we in Connecticut like to think that ours is the best. No matter how you like it, thin, thick, new age-y... the Nutmeg State has a pie just for you.
But to the folks at Thrillist.com, our pizza is only among the nation's best. Yeah, yeah, I know... but I guess we should hear them out.
The entertainment, travel and dining website recently came out with a list of the 33 Best Pizzerias in America, and only two from Connecticut made the list: Sally's Apizza in New Haven, and Camille's Wood Fired Pizza in Tolland.

"This is now our fourth edition of the Best Pizzerias in America, and this time around, we tried as much as possible to celebrate old-school places that we might not have given love to before, plus some of the newer shops that are pushing forward their own ideas of what the long-timer shops started," wrote authors Kevin Alexander and Liz Childers.
Ah, that explains it. Not to mention that clearly Sally's and Camille's are great spots:

Camille's wood-fired pizzas are worth traveling for -- whether you're in search of a classic margherita or a customizable pie topped with anything from goat cheese and pancetta to meatballs and kale.
Sally's is one of two pizzerias worth knowing in New Haven (the other is Frank Pepe's). In continuous operation since 1938, the family-run shop is known for its thin-crust pizza cooked in a coal-fired oven that's been around as long as the place itself has. The pizza-only menu includes tomato and mozzarella pies plus a few speciality ones, like the strangely delicious white potato-and-onion pizza.
