Opening Date Announced For Iconic Pizzeria's New Shelton Location
The new Shelton restaurant features a family-friendly dining room, expansive bar, 70-person patio and more, according to the pizzeria.
SHELTON, CT — Fans of Colony Grill's famous thin crust pizza in Shelton will soon be able to grab a pie near their home, as the pizzeria chain plans to open its newest location in town this week.
According to an announcement from the pizzeria chain, Colony will officially open its doors at 902 Bridgeport Avenue on Thursday.
The new Shelton venue features a family-friendly dining room, expansive bar, 70-person patio and a Wall of Heroes adorned with Shelton's own first responders, veterans and active-duty service members who protect and serve the community, according to the announcement.

The restaurant also accommodates large parties for dine-in and offers third-party delivery, according to the announcement.
"Opening in Shelton is very special for us," CEO and Co-Owner Paul Coniglio said in a news release. "The Shelton community provided lifelong experiences and memories for me and our leadership team, and we are excited to serve the guests and families who have been fans of Colony Grill for so long, now in their own backyard."

The new Shelton restaurant marks Colony's fifth location in Connecticut and 10th overall. The iconic pizzeria, famous for its hot oil bar-style pizzas, has a 90-year history in Connecticut dating back to the opening of its first location in Stamford in 1935.
Colony also operates restaurants in Norwalk, Fairfield and Milford, as well as some locations in New York, Virginia, Florida and Maryland.
With deep roots in the area, the Shelton opening carries special meaning for the Colony Grill team.
"We grew up nearby—playing youth sports and building lifelong friendships," COO and Co-Owner Ken Martin said in a news release. "Opening a Colony Grill in Shelton allows us to create a place where today's families can come together, enjoy a simple meal and make lasting memories."
Plans to open a new Colony restaurant in the former Burger King restaurant space were first submitted to the city's Planning and Zoning Department over the summer.
