Overturned Kayak Leads To Search For Person In Housatonic River: Shelton FD
Shelton and Derby fire crews are involved in the search, according to fire officials.
DERBY, CT — A search for a person in the Housatonic River on Monday was prompted by an overturned kayak, according to the Shelton Fire Department.
In an email to Patch, Deputy Chief Paul Wilson said Monday night crews from the Shelton and Derby fire departments responded to the river in the area of the Commodore Isaac Hull Bridge in Derby after receiving a report of a kayak overturned.
According to Wilson, crews were able to identify an unoccupied kayak and "some items in the area indicated the kayak was occupied and overturned with an occupant."
