Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking elective office because I would like to continue being a part of a team that has put Shelton on a path of great success and that has made our city the envy of the state.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.

The most important issue facing our city is to continue the common-sense fiscal policies, smart and balanced growth, keeping our city an affordable place in which to live, work, raise a family and in which to locate business and maintaining a very good quality of life for our residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

The differences are that I will continue smart and sound fiscal policies, keep our taxes the lowest in the area, keep our city as one of the safest in the state, continue to support the purchase open space, smart balanced growth, and maintaining our great quality of life. They won't.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

The issues I have described above: low taxes, quality of life, sound fiscal policies, keeping Shelton affordable for all, open space, recreational opportunities, following our comprehensive plan of development.

I have proven that I can bring people together, have built great working relationships with people and city departments, passed ordinances, and have a proven record of results.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

When you speak with someone to look them in the eye, say what you mean and mean what you say, be myself, and when you give your word, keep your word, and always strive to make a difference for others.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I will continue to do what I have always done for the residents and businesses in Shelton: work hard on their behalf to make a difference, get results, and put others first.
