Married to William Harris Jr.
3 children - Darlene, Lorraine and Jeff - all graduates of Derby High School

No.
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
6 terms on the Derby Board of Education.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
Education is vital today for all children. I am an advocate for STEM, and life curriculum.
I am a believer all students should have exposure to art, music, foreign languages as well as other extra curricular activities such as sports and clubs.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Promote an academic curriculum for parents and students who do not want to attend a four year college. Give those students other alternatives for a high paying job.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have a reputation to be relied on as a collaborator. I seek to see other peoples perspectives and look to find common objectives.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
I am an incumbent.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Advocate for more student centered programs. Continue to help staff members obtain materials to aid the learning environment
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I recently achieved the level of Master Board of Education Member of the Ct. Association of Boards of Education 2022-2023 school year. Eleven years in a row - the Derby Board of Education has been recognized for the Leadership Award from CABE
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
“You’re never too old to Learn”

I will continue advocate for ALL our students and staff members.
