SHELTON, CT — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Shelton, according to police.

In a news release, Police Det. Christopher Nugent said Shelton police, fire and Emergency Medical Services crews were called to the area of School Street and Monroe Road around 1 p.m. and found an unresponsive man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Nugent.

Shelton police are actively investigating the incident. The man's identity is not being released at this time, according to Nugent.
