Police Continue To Investigate Fatal Shelton Crash

The Sunday crash killed two people.

SHELTON, CT — Police continue to investigate the double-fatal crash on River Road in Shelton. One of the people killed in Shelton's fatal Sunday evening crash is the daughter of a longtime police officer in Bridgeport.

Lily Pirulli, 20, of Monroe was the daughter of Officer Mario Pirulli, who has been with the department since 1993, according to Hearst Connecticut. Adrian Miles, 31, of Ansonia was also killed in the crash. He is the father of a 4-year-old girl.

A BMW 5 Series sedan with four occupants and a Toyota RAV4 with one occupant were involved in the crash, said Shelton police Detective Christopher Nugent.

Two other occupants from the BMW were taken to area hospitals; one remains in critical condition and the other was treated and released.

The driver of the RAV4 was evaluated at the scene and released.

River Road has been the site of multiple fatal crashes in the past few years. Briana Torres-Carter, 23, and Shalymar Herrera, 18, were killed in an April 2018 crash; Torres-Carter was eight months pregnant. Rosemarie Dyer, 69, was killed in May 2016.
