Police Officers To Hand Out Free Ice Cream In Derby
Derby police will help residents beat the heat this week by handing out free ice cream!
DERBY, CT — Derby police will help residents beat this week's extreme heatwave and hot temperatures by handing out free ice cream.
On Friday, officers will drive around from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m and hand out free frozen treats,according to the department's Facebook page.
Community members who would like free ice cream are asked to look out for police officers with an "Operation Cool Down" decal on their cruisers and wave them down.
