Popular Family-Run Sandwich Shop Opens Newest Location In Shelton
The family-run sandwich shop opened the doors to its newest location in Shelton this month, the chain's fourth store in Connecticut.
SHELTON, CT — The Tasty Yolk, a popular sandwich shop specializing in inventive breakfast sandwiches and other creative menu items, opened the doors to its newest location in Shelton last week after announcing the new store back in December.
According to the family-run sandwich shop' s Facebook page, the new Shelton location officially opened at 99 Bridgeport Avenue on Jan. 15.
The Shelton store's current hours are Mondays-Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with plans to open until 8 p.m. in the coming months currently in the works, according to a post announcing the opening.

"We are so grateful for the warm welcome Shelton has given us and can't wait for the weekend," the Tasty Yolk team wrote in a Facebook post on Jan. 15.
Owners Eric Felitto and Mike Bertanza confirmed to Patch last month the Shelton location was planned to open in early 2026.

In addition to Shelton, Tasty Yolk currently operates stores in Branford, Stratford and the Black Rock area of Bridgeport, as well as a food truck.
The menu at each location consists of some unique items and specials, including popular items like "The Tasty," a sandwich made of craft chorizo, two eggs and cheddar on a toasted bun, as well as "The Crispy Mother Clucker," which consists of buttermilk fried chicken breast, pickled slaw and Korean BBQ sauce.
"The Tasty Yolk is a family business," Felitto and Bertanza said to Patch in December, "and Shelton has been on our radar from the very beginning."
According to Felitto and Bertanza, customers in Shelton can expect the same commitment to quality, consistency, convenience and service they have come to know from each of their current Tasty Yolk locations.
"What sets Shelton apart is that it will be our first location to offer tables and chairs for on-site dining," Felitto and Bertanza said, "along with a drive-through pickup window that, once available, will be accessible to customers who order ahead via text or through our online store."
