Salary Increase Proposed For Shelton Mayor: Report

The proposed hike could make the job one of the highest paid among cities of similar or larger size throughout the Stamford/Bridgeport area.

SHELTON, CT — A consultant recently presented survey results to the Board of Aldermen that call for the mayor's position to receive a 5 percent hike beginning later this year, the Shelton Herald reports. The job is currently occupied by Mayor Mark Lauretti, who has held the position for over 30 years.

According to the Shelton Herald, the proposed bump would increase the mayor's salary to $166,133 beginning in November, then to $174,439 in November 2024. The hike would put the position second among city leaders in the Stamford/Bridgeport area with a population of 40,000 or higher.
