Student Sickened By Vape Pen At Seymour High School
One student became ill and others were transported to the hospital for evaluation after smoking from a vape pen.

SEYMOUR, CT — A few students were sent to the hospital after they shared a vape pen at Seymour High School Thursday morning.
The incident is under investigation by police.
Multiple students shared a vape pen and one of them became ill. Police and EMS were called to the school to evaluate the students who used the vape pen.

" The student who became ill and other students who shared the vape device were transported for medical evaluation," said Seymour High Principal Jim Freund. "Additionally a police dog came into the school to assist in the investigation in a proactive effort to make sure that there are no illegal substances in our school."
Superintendent Michael Wilson said school officials, police and EMS quickly assessed the situation and located the students in need.

"School safety is always our number one priority and we will continue to work collaboratively with the police department to ensure that our students are safe," Wilson said. "As this is now an ongoing police investigation, this is the most detailed information that we can share."
