Shelton Beauty and Bridal Studio Expands to Offer Microblading

A Touch of Color Makeup and Hair Studio has expanded its services once again and now offers microblading. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo to fill in thin or sparse eyebrows.

There are several requirements in order to become a licensed microblade technician in the state of Connecticut. Technicians must complete a course on the prevention of disease transmission and blood-borne pathogens as well as a basic first aid course. They must also complete 2,000 hours of training under the supervision of a tattoo technician. Finally, they must submit this information and apply online through the state of Connecticut to become a licensed tattoo artist.

A Touch of Color owner Sharyn Scully completed her training in December of 2017 through Brow Design International which is based out of New York City. “The course was extremely detail oriented and user friendly,” said Scully. “The instructor, Truc Duong, is also a medical nurse and paid particular attention to hygiene which is so important to our clients and the industry as a whole.” Scully holds over 30 certifications to date including eyelash extensions, skin care, nails, makeup, and education to name a few.

A Touch of Color Makeup and Hair Studio has been continuously expanding since first opening in 2009. Last year, they added a full service hair salon and increased their service to include cut, color, extensions, clip ins, event up dos and styles, as well as highlights and balayage. The studio also hired new stylists as well as increased their travel beauty team for weddings and special events.
