Shelton Budget Comes with Tax Decrease

Officials are waiting to see what impact the state budget will have on Shelton.

SHELTON, CT — The Board of Aldermen approved a budget that will lower the tax rate in Shelton.

The mill rate will drop from 22.31 to 22.21, according to the Shelton Herald.
Officials are still waiting to see what the damage is from lawmakers in Hartford. Mayor Mark Lauretti didn't comment on how the city would deal with any funding gap caused by state budget cuts to Shelton.
