Shelton Cops Nab Burglary Suspect in the Act

The early Thursday break-in occurred at the Bricks and Barley restaurant on Howe Avenue.

Shelton, CT - A burglary suspect in Shelton learned the hard way early Thursday that alarms really do work.

According to Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango, officers responded to an alarm at the Bricks and Barley restaurant on Howe Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. and came across 23-year-old Shelton resident Alexis Sanchez who was running from the scene.

"Upon arrival Officers discovered the rear door to the business was kicked in and cash was taken from the office," Bango wrote in a post on the department's Facebook page. "Additional patrol officers canvased the area and located Sanchez running from the scene. A brief foot chase ensued and Sanchez was caught and arrested. The cash taken from the business was located nearby."
