Shelton Democrats Nominate Lauretti Challenger

The Shelton Democratic Town Committee nominated a longtime businessman to run against Mayor Mark Lauretti.

SHELTON, CT — The Shelton Democratic Town Committee nominated John Harmon to run against longtime Republican Mayor Mark Lauretti come November.

Lauretti is seeking a 15th term as mayor. He said the city has come a long way under his leadership and improvements continue to be made, according to the Shelton Herald. He also called for change at the Board of Education.

Harmon worked at Kodak and Pitney Bowes for the past three decades and does business consulting work. He said he wants to improve the Shelton Public School system.
