Millions have been set aside for the project.

SHELTON, CT — A total of $2.9 million has been set aside by the federal government for a project to help remediate lead paint from about 120 apartments in Shelton, Derby and other Valley communities.
Championed by United States Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), the project is slated to begin this fall, and will concentrate on remediating the paint from older homes throughout the communities, reports the Connecticut Post.
In addition to Shelton and Derby, the other Valley communities that will share in the grant are Ansonia, Seymour, Beacon Falls and Naugatuck.
