Shelton-Derby Memorial Day Parade Details Released: What To Know

A number of events have been announced that will take place during the Memorial Day weekend in Shelton and Derby. Here are the details.

SHELTON-DERBY, CT — A number of events have been announced that will take place during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend in Shelton and Derby.

According to the Shelton Police Department's Facebook page, an annual ceremony will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Derby High School.

Police said the ceremony "will honor and read the names of military veterans from Derby and Shelton who have passed away since last Memorial Day."

The annual Derby–Shelton Memorial Day parade will take place Monday, beginning at 9 a.m. in Shelton and continuing into Derby.

According to police, the parade will begin at Howe Avenue and Kneen Street and proceed along Kneen Street to Coram Avenue, then White Street and back to Howe Avenue.

The parade will then continue across the Derby–Shelton Bridge into Derby, where it will travel along Main Street, turn onto Elizabeth Street and conclude on Cottage Street.

The event will be held rain or shine, police said.
