Shelton-Derby Weekend Guide: Pumpkin Picking At Jones Family Farms And A Freedom-To-Read Puppet Show

SHELTON-DERBY, CT — Fall on the farm leads the weekend in Shelton and Derby, from Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11, with daily pumpkin picking at Jones Family Farms and a puppet show for young readers at the Derby Neck Library.

This Weekend's Arts & Entertainment

  • Puppet Show: "A Book for Everyone" — Thursday, Oct. 8, 10:30 a.m. The library's original puppet show for young children, created with community partners for Banned Books Week, celebrates the freedom to read. Derby Neck Library, 307 Hawthorne Avenue, Derby
  • Pumpkin Picking — Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with "Golden Hour" picking until 6:30 p.m. Friday.
