Shelton Education, City Officials Set Schools Budget
The negotiated spending plan give the district a healthy boost.

Shelton, CT - The city's school system will have $70.4 million to spend next year, following a negotiated budget by education and city officials.
The Connecticut Post reports that the amount is $1.1 million higher than the just-completed year's budget and will allow the district to add technology positions, two of which will be part-time, and offer more programs for special needs and English-as-a-second-language students.
Additionally, the district will receive about $6.1 million from the state for schools next year, an increase of nearly $700,000.

Projected school enrollment in Shelton is about 4,900, largely unchanged in the past year.
