Shelton High Student Made Threat Referencing Gun: Police

The student allegedly posted a message on Twitter saying he was in possession of a gun.

A Shelton High School student is facing charges for allegedly posting a threat on Twitter.

According to police, a concerned parent showed officers a Tweet that said “I have a gun and I think I’m going to use it tomorrow.” The parent told police she believed the message was posted by a Shelton High student.

Police found that the Tweet was posted by a 17-year-old student. The juvenile was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released on a promise to appear to his parents. He was given a court date for later this month.

The student was not found to be in possession of a gun, police said.

School administration was notified of the incident. Police are working with school officials regarding the incident.
