Shelton Home Health Aide Stole $22k From Patient: PD
The aide took money from the 83-year-old victim's bank account, police said.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton home aid was arrested after she stole more than $22,000 from an elderly patient, according to police.
A man told police that he discovered a large sum of money missing from his 83-year-old mother's bank account, said Detective Richard Bango, police spokesman. She suffers from dementia.
Jennifer Poitevien, 30, was a home health aide for the woman. She made ATM withdrawals with the victim's credit card and used her information to open another card, Bango said.

Poitevien was charged with first-degree larceny, credit card theft and first-degree identity theft. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
