Shelton Home Uninhabitable After Fire Breaks Out In Attic: FD

Fire officials said the home was declared uninhabitable as a result of the blaze and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

SHELTON, CT — A Shelton home was found to be uninhabitable after a fire broke out in its attic Wednesday night, according to fire officials.

In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said crews were called to a single-family home on Cedar Hill Road around 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire in the home's attic.

According to fire officials, smoke could be seen from the attic's gable vents when crews arrived. As they entered the home, crews found no smoke present in the living area.

Firefighters located the fire in the attic and quickly extinguished it, officials said. Crews continued to check for hot spots and metered the home.

No injuries were reported. The home was declared uninhabitable as a result of the fire and the residents were able to find a temporary relocation, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the city's fire marshal, officials said.
