Shelton KinderCare Learning Center Achieves National Accreditation
Shelton Mayor Mark A. Lauretti visited the facility Monday to congratulate officials on the achievement.

SHELTON, CT — Mayor Mark A. Lauretti visited the nationally accredited KinderCare Learning Center in Shelton on Monday to celebrate the center’s accreditation and visit with children in the pre-Kindergarten and preschool classrooms. Shelton KinderCare Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, a leading professional organization for the early childhood education industry.
Accreditation is an intensive process, granted by an independent, third-party organization validating that KinderCare’s teachers provide meaningful and engaging daily learning experiences for every child. Research shows that children who attend exceptional early childhood programs demonstrate higher math, language, and socialization skills.

“We were so excited to celebrate our accreditation with Mayor Lauretti,” said Carlin Hill, Center Director at Shelton KinderCare. “Accreditation through NAEYC is the gold standard in our industry. When families in our community enroll their children in an accredited center, they know they’re getting the highest quality child care and education available.”
“The quality of the learning experience at Shelton KinderCare was apparent to me when I first walked through the door,” said Mayor Lauretti. “I’m proud to have an early learning center in our community that cares so much for the children and families they serve.”

Unlike licensing, which only ensures a basic threshold level of a center’s ability to provide care, accreditation is the gold standard in designating high-quality early learning programs. With less than 10 percent of early childhood education programs in the nation receiving accreditation, KinderCare is the only private provider dedicated to achieving 100 percent accreditation in their centers across the country. Shelton KinderCare is one of two accredited child care centers in the Shelton area.
Shelton KinderCare serves families throughout the area, accepting children as young as six weeks to 12 years old.
