Shelton Lions, Youth Services to Participate in 'Halloween Hoopla'
Free bike helmets will be given to the first 500 kids and 'Freakout Magician' Chris Lengyel will perform.
The 14th Annual Children’s Health and Safety Fair will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 from 3-8 p.m. at Warsaw Park on Pulaski Highway in Ansonia.
“Halloween Hoopla” is a family-friendly fair with a Halloween theme. Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy free healthy treats, games and a magic show. Peruse a wide variety of health, wellness and safety programs.
Freakout Magician Chris Lengyel, an Ansonia native, will perform.

Many local agencies will be on hand with their health and wellness displays, including VSAAC, Healthy Eye Alliance, TEAM, Valley YMCA, Give A Spit bone marrow donations, CT DOT, train safety, Massaro Community Farms, Shelton Community Lions Club, Shelton Youth Service Bureau, Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, and Shop Rite.
The displays will focus on variety of health and safety topics, including pedestrian safety, train safety, sports safety poison prevention, good hand washing, how to call 911. There will also be a bike helmet clinic, the Child Identification Program (CHIP), fire engines and rescue vehicles, a safety house to teach about safety features in homes. Free bike helmets will be available for the first 500 children.

Halloween Hoopla is sponsored by Griffin Hospital’s Valley Parish Nurse program, The Valley Community Foundation, Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley, and Griffin Faculty Physicians.
