Shelton Man Saves 3 From Car Fire

The man heard a strange engine sound while sleeping and found a car that was starting to catch fire with occupants inside.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton man Jefferson Reis helped rescue three teenagers from a burning car April 9.

Reis was sleeping and heard a sound outside his home around 3 a.m., according to the Shelton Herald. He saw a car and heard its engine racing without revving. He went outside to investigate and saw a driver open the door, but not get out.

He pulled the driver and another passenger from the vehicle. He also got the other passenger to leave the burning vehicle.
