Shelton Mayor Lauretti Decides Political Future
Mayor Lauretti has made a decision on the governor race.
SHELTON, CT — Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti announced that will suspend his gubernatorial campaign as the deadline passed to submit signatures in order to qualify for the Republican governor race primary.
Lauretti announced he didn't have enough signatures to qualify and didn't want to further burden election offices with signature verification, according to CT News Junkie.
Two Republican candidates announced they believe they have more than enough votes to qualify for the primary. Democrats will likely have a three way battle for the nomination.
