Shelton Police Chief to Retire
Chief Joel Hurliman has served the department for 38 years.

Shelton Police Chief Joel Hurliman will retire Oct. 16, the Connecticut Post reports.
Mayor Mark Lauretti told the Post, Hurliman will be replaced on a temporary basis by Police Capt. Shawn Sequeira, a retired State Police Detective. Assigned to the Major Crime Squad, Sequeira has worked on several high profile cases including the Sandy Hook School shooting.
Hurliman, a 1973 graduate of Shelton High School, has served the department for 38 years.
