Shelton Public Schools Announces Snow Day For Thursday
The winter's first major storm is expected to dump a significant amount of snow throughout the region.
SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public Schools announced that Thursday will be a snow day for students and staff, as this winter's first major storm bares down on the region.
"No classes will be held," District officials wrote on Facebook. "Distance learning is cancelled for the day."
Interim Schools Superintendent Beth A. Smith also wrote about Thursday's closure on her Twitter page, and offered a suggestion for members of the school community while classes are canceled.

"Be safe while cleaning up," Smith wrote. "Check on your elderly neighbors and shovel them out!"
The New Haven Register writes that Thursday's canceled day will be tacked onto the end of the school year.
