Shelton Redistricting Options Discussed

Some elementary schools are dealing with overcrowding while others aren't near capacity.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public Schools is considering three redistricting options, each of which would involve moving around 100 students from one school to another.

The school system's enrollment has dropped 14 percent over the past 10 years, according to the Shelton Herald.

Some schools are running near full capacity while others are only at two-thirds capacity.

Shelton Superintendent Dr. Chris Clouet said that it isn't an issue about the budget, but about fairness for children who have to deal with overcrowding in schools.
