Shelton School Bus Issued Settled

The city sued the Board of Education over who could provide school bus service.

SHELTON, CT — The city and Board of Education have settled the issue of who is busing students in the coming school year.

City-owned propane buses will be used by Durham School Services for the coming school year, according to the Connecticut Post.

After that the city will enter into a three year agreement with the Board of Education to directly provide school bus service as long as costs are $3.15 million or less per year.

The city sued the Board of Education after the Board of Education entered into an agreement with Durham School Services for busing services. The city wanted to provide service, but Superintendent Chris Clouet said the city never provided a detailed written proposal. The city argued that the Board of Education improperly entered an agreement with Durham School Services.
