Shelton School Bus Service Starts Amid Lawsuit

The city and Board of Education are on opposite sides of a lawsuit.

SHELTON, CT — School buses have started transporting a small number of students amid an ongoing legal battle between city and Board of Education officials.

Parties had a closed-door negotiation and some progress was made toward reaching a solution on the school bus contract, according to the Connecticut Post.

Both sides are due back in court July 11.

City officials claim the Board of Education violated the town charter by improperly executing a contract with Durham School Services.

Superintendent Chris Clouet said the city never gave a detailed written proposal for how it would provide bus service using city-owned school buses.
