SHELTON, CT — Local officials are continuing work on clearing a backlog of fire code violations at Shelton High School and expect to have the project completed in about a year.
August 2017 is the expected completion date for the effort, which includes sprinkler repairs and other punch list types of items, reports the Shelton Herald.
Roughly 100 items remain outstanding, and some will be wiped off the docket due to changes in code definitions by National Fire Prevention Association. At one point in 2012, the school reportedly had more than 600 violations.
