Shelton Schools Exploring Options For Large Classroom Sizes
Several classrooms at elementary schools are above the district's goal of 25 pupils.
SHELTON, CT — School officials are looking into ways to reduce class sizes because five classrooms at three elementary schools have more than 25 students each.
The Shelton school district's goal is to keep class sizes at 25 pupils or fewer, but that has been challenging because the district has been flat-funded, School Superintendent Dr. Chris Clouet said, according to the Shelton Herald.
Administrators are looking into consolidating some classes with lower enrollment or shifting instructors to classroom settings.
