Shelton Schools Had 80+Staff Out On Last In-Person Day
A growing number of coronavirus cases and staff absences largely caused by quarantines led the district to go fully remote.
SHELTON, CT — More than 80 Shelton Public School staff members were out on the last day of in-person learning last week.
The school system only had 37 substitutes to cover classes, according to the Shelton Herald.
There was also a growing number of cases in schools that forced teachers and students to quarantine.

Shelton Public Schools announced it would have full remote learning until at least Jan. 1. Trumbull, Ansonia and Bridgeport public school districts have also announced plans for full remote learning. Some other districts like Waterbury and Stratford are moving higher grades to remote learning in an effort to keep elementary schools for in-person learning.
