Shelton Schools Likely Asking For Budget Increase Next Year

The increase would help cover some costs that are expected to rise.

SHELTON, CT — School Superintendent Chris Clouet said that the district will likely ask for a budget increase next year in order to cover contractual agreements for salary and health benefit increases along with other costs.

The state sent about $800,000 less to Shelton for schools, according to the Connecticut Post.

A school bus contract and school administrator contract have yet to be finalized and could change costs. Some elementary schools are packed while others have available space and the district may hire a firm to study the causes.
