Shelton State Park Swimming Area Temporarily Closed: DEEP

SHELTON, CT — A swimming area of Indian Well State Park in Shelton is closed after failing a recent bacteria levels test, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

In a news release, DEEP officials said retesting will take place at the state park Wednesday and results will be released Thursday.

Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middlefield was also closed for swimming following the DEEP test.

The Mashamoquet Brook State Park swimming area in Pomfret will remain closed for the 2022 season for ongoing maintenance.
