Shelton Sues Its Own BOE Over Bus Contract

The protracted school bus service argument continues in Shelton, this time with a lawsuit.

SHELTON, CT — The City of Shelton is suing its Board of Education over a school bus contract. City officials claim the Board of Education violated the town charter by improperly executing a contract with Durham School Services.

Superintendent Chris Clouet said the city never gave a detailed written proposal for how it would provide bus service using city-owned school buses, according to the Connecticut Post.

The city told school officials that it wouldn't let Durham School Services use the city-owned buses, which increased costs by $800,000.
