Shelton Superintendent Estimates Budget Increase Ask

Superintendent Chris Clouet estimated what he will ask for in the next fiscal year.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Schools Superintendent Chris Clouet estimated that he will request a budget increase of 2.99 percent over the current year.

The budget proposal will be filed with the city by Feb. 15, according to the Shelton Herald.

The school budget has increased an average of 1.45 percent each year for the past 10 years. Last year's increase was 1.72 percent.

Teacher and administrator salaries are scheduled to increase by $1.3 million next fiscal year, and there is about another $1 million increase for outgoing tuition, benefits and instruction materials
