
SHELTON, CT — The approved school budget will mean teacher layoffs and other cuts in Shelton.
The city refused to allow its school buses to be used, which adds an $800,000 expense, according to the Connecticut Post. Five or six teachers will be cut along with an administrator position.
Superintendent Chris Clouet called the cuts unnecessary and said the city has the money to avoid the cuts.
