Shelton Woman Facing DUI Charge After Rollover in Monroe

Police said the woman along with her passenger were not injured.

A Shelton woman is facing a DUI charge after a rollover crash in Monroe on Saturday.

According to police, officers received a report of a single car crash near 183 East Village Road around 1:10 a.m.. Officers arrived to find a white Honda Pilot in the middle of the road.

Police said the Honda struck an embankment and a tree, rolled over and landed back on its tires. The driver of the Honda, Sandra Toesser, 41, of Shelton and the passenger said they were not injured.

Officers found that Toesser was intoxicated. She was arrested after failing standardized field sobriety tests and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Toesser blood alcohol content was 0.91, police said. She was given a $500 bond and a court date of Dec. 22.
