Shelton's White Hills Volunteer Fire Company 5 Hosts Flower Sale
The fire department, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary, is selling Easter flowers Friday and Saturday.

SHELTON, CT — White Hills Volunteer Fire Company 5 in Shelton is hosting its annual Easter Flower Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. until whenever the flowers run out on Saturday, according to organizers.
The fire company, located at 2 School St. in Shelton, is celebrating its 75th anniversary and will hold a community open house at the facility during the flower sale.
Chartered to have up to 75 volunteer members, the company currently only has 35 members, according to officials, and is seeking new recruits. The company responds to about 500 calls annually, including structure fires, commercial fire alarms, brush fires, EMT assists, and motor vehicle accidents (some of which require extrication).

In addition to providing citywide coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Company 5 also responds to mutual aid calls in Monroe, Derby, Trumbull, Stratford and other area towns.
