Shooting Arrest Made In Derby

A January shooting left a man seriously injured. Police made an arrest Oct. 28.

DERBY, CT — Detectives arrested an Ansonia man in connection with a shooting that occurred on Jan. 4 in Derby, according to police.

A man sustained life-threatening injuries after being shot three times on Eighth Street at close range, police said. He has since been released from the hospital.

Rajohn James, 22, was charged with first-degree criminal attempt at robbery and first-degree criminal liability for assault on Oct. 28. He was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The shooting was drug-related, police said.

Ansonia and Bridgeport police assisted Derby police with the investigation.
