Stabbing After Derby High School Basketball Game Probed: Police
A 24-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder while breaking up a fight following Monday night's game between Derby and Emmett O'Brien Tech.

DERBY, CT — A 24-year-old man was treated for a stab wound to one of his shoulders Monday night after he was stabbed in the Derby High School parking lot following a boys varsity basketball game between Derby and Ansonia's Emmett O'Brien Technical High School, according to Derby police.
No other injuries were reported, and the victim was released from Griffin Hospital following treatment.
Police learned of the stabbing at about 9 p.m., and officers received information from "multiple sources" indicating that the victim was stabbed while trying to break up a fight involving "juveniles who were departing" from the game, or who were already in the parking lot.

Derby police are "reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to ascertain the identities of those involved," according to authorities.
