State Rep. Kara Rochelle Seeks Re-Election For Derby & Ansonia
Rochelle, a Democrat, is seeking her third term representing the 104th District.

DERBY, CT — Two-term incumbent state Rep. Kara Rochelle, a Democrat representing Derby and Ansonia, announced over the weekend that she is seeking re-election to represent the 104th District.
Rochelle, who lives in Ansonia, announced her re-election bid in a video on her Facebook page (see below).
"I put my heart and tremendous care and effort into the work that I do for our community, and I’m a strong advocate for our working families, our seniors, our kids, economic development, so much more," she said. "I hope I've earned your support for re-election."

In 2020, Rochelle won handily over Republican Myra Rivers, obtaining nearly 60 percent of the vote.
She said she is participating in the Connecticut Citizens' Election Program for her re-election effort, "a voluntary program which provides clean elections financing to qualified candidates for statewide offices and the General Assembly."

Under the program, candidates pledge to not accept donations from special interests or "a principal of a state contractor or prospective state contractor," according to Rochelle's campaign website.
A Republican has not yet announced a candidacy.
