Fire officials said crews quickly found a microwave oven smoldering due to a stovetop fire at a Shelton home.

SHELTON, CT — Crews extinguished a stovetop fire that broke out at a Shelton home Sunday afternoon, according to the Shelton Fire Department.

In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said a structure fire was reported at a Beecher Drive home, where crews found a light smoke condition upon arrival.

Crews quickly located a microwave oven smoldering due to a stovetop fire, which also caused damage to some cabinets, according to fire officials.
