Suspected Drug Dealer Charged With Selling Narcotics In Fatal Overdose: Shelton Police
The alleged sale and death occurred in 2016.

SHELTON, CT — A 39-year-old Shelton man was arrested early Wednesday on multiple counts of Illegal Sale of Narcotics in connection with the alleged sale of heroin and cocaine to a man who died of a overdose of the drugs, according to Shelton Police.
Jerome Downing was arrested on a warrant and was being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
"On 09/17/2016, a 37 year old Shelton man was discovered deceased in his home from an apparent drug overdose," wrote Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango in a statement. "It was later confirmed through autopsy, the man overdosed on a combination of heroin and cocaine. A subsequent investigation by Shelton Detectives revealed the man purchased drugs earlier that day from 39 year old Jerome Downing of Shelton."

Downing was charged with two counts of Illegal Sale of Narcotics and was scheduled to be arraigned in Derby Superior Court on Wednesday.
