According to police, patrol officers responded to a burglar alarm at the business at about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday and discovered the shop's front door lock damaged and the safe missing from the business.

"The surveillance video showed the burglar driving a dark BMW 3 series," police wrote in a statement. "Later that day the Stratford Police Department stopped said vehicle and Carloto was arrested on an unrelated arrested warrant. Carloto had coin rolls from Rita’s and burglar tools in the vehicle at the time."
