Suspected Shelton Drug Dealer Arrested In Fatal Overdose Case: Police
The accused sold drugs to a person who died of an overdose, according to Shelton police.

SHELTON, CT — A 38-year-old Shelton man was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with narcotics violations in connection with a fatal drug overdose that occurred in May, according to Shelton police.
Daniel Reid is accused of selling "narcotics to the decedent just prior to the overdose," said Det. Richard Bango in a statement.
"Search warrants were executed at Reid’s Shelton residence and on his vehicle, where detectives discovered narcotics, a semi-automatic firearm with no serial number, and ammunition," Bango said.

Reid was charged with the following:
- Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- Illegal Alteration of Firearm Identification
- Criminal Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of Weapons in a Motor Vehicle
Reid was held in lieu of bail of $300,000, and was scheduled to be arraigned in Derby Superior Court on Friday.

Shelton police also said that the charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
