Tentative Shelton School Lunch Worker Agreement Reached

SHELTON, CT — Shelton school cafeteria workers and the management firm that oversees cafeteria operations have reached a tentative agreement over wages and benefits.

Neither Whitsons or the cafeteria workers union released details of the agreement, according to the Shelton Herald.

Workers wanted paid time off and affordable health care benefits.

Union members are set to vote on the contract Aug. 23 according to the Connecticut Post. Whitsons took over cafeteria operations from Sodexo after the district kept absorbing losses for running the program.
